Dear Panthers!

Always come to school on time and avoid being tardy in all of your classes. Once you have accumulated 3 tardies you will earn 1 community service hour. Don't fail to pick up the community service form from my office and serve the last semester’s and current required hours so these do not get in your way when graduation comes.

Franklin High School considers a formal education a serious process and wishes to provide students with a school atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Students, while in the process of securing an education, are expected to dress appropriately and follow school rules based on LAUSD policies.

Only Franklin hats and beanies are allowed and clothes must be moderate and appropriate for school. Electronic devices are not allowed during class time and are subject to confiscation. They may be used only during nutrition and lunch.

All confiscated items are returned only on Monday afternoons, at 3:30 PM through 3:45 PM at the Dean’s Office.  It is on first come first served basis so once all students have claimed their items, the office will close and I will be unavailable.  Second time and habitual violators (combined violation of school rules) must come in with their parents to retrieve their confiscated items.  Third time offenders can pick up confiscated items at the end of the school-year.

I expect full cooperation from all of you Panthers!

Remember that we create the environment that we live in!

Mariah Grace S. Martinez

This is just a friendly update on Athletic news and events. All athletics is on Dead Period per CIF rules, which means no practices, no meetings, and no competition with coaches involved for three straight weeks. This allows coaches to rest and more importantly students to just be kids and enjoy some summer break. The dead period will conclude on July 6th and after that all voluntary practices with coaches will resume if they wish. In the meantime, please continue to work on paperwork during this dead period. Prior to submitting paperwork please make sure you signed and filled in EVERY page or there will be a delay in your clearance. Physicals are being accepted as well and the nurse will be on campus July 8th to clear athletes physicals.

Here is some useful links during this dead period:

I will be on campus from 8:30 am - 2:30pm Monday thru Friday of summer school in Room 313. Paperwork can be dropped off before Summer school starts, during Summer School lunch hours or you can leave it in the Main Office. Please do not forget to attach a copy of your current valid insurance card. If you need an athletic packet they too will be readily available in the main office starting Monday June 27.
